Client Burnett Foundation

Website UI Design & Design System

Branding by Special Group. Build by DDB.

I was given the amazing opportunity to design Burnett Foundation’s website, however this was no simple task. Unlike a new website where you start from scratch, we were merging the content for both the New Zealand Aids Foundation and Ending HIV sites, whilst retaining the component structure of the Ending HIV site.

We had to evaluate the IA to what we were keeping in the new site, as well as reskinning each component with the new Burnett Foundation branding. This included adding new colour combinations for the new brand, into the existing front end styling.

The site had to retain the ‘fun’ aesthetic, with the more lifestyle content of Ending HIV. But at the same time creating some more formal or informative page styles, better suited to the content being pulled from the New Zealand Aids Foundation website.

There was also an opportunity to revisit and improve the current navigation. We ended up with a more bespoke solution for the navigation, which made it easier to find both article content, and information for medical professionals.

We ended up with a solution which allowed Burnett Foundation to launch the new brand website seamlessly, without having to completely overhaul their content from the previous two sites.
